It’d be completely pointless for Kane to wear his mask again, his character has evolved and has lost it’s mystique. We all know what his face looks like and the point of a mask is to hide an identity. So they’d never do it again.

When he wrestled Stone Cold Steve Austin, his back was in desperate need of surgery. Imagine, he wrestled with a back that needed surgery! And throughout the match, you can tell by his facial expressions that he was in a lot of pain.
