HHH in ‘00 – ‘01 is better then anything steiner has ever done. Steiner was crap in both those matches, he was supposed to be the face and he got boo’ed out of the buildings.
He only did suplexes, and not because “they made steiner do a ton of power moves” but because he sucks. On top of that, he botched a suplex too, terrible. . . He was working with a foot injury and hew as just terrible in both matches, HHH wrestled circles around him.
That’s true in pro-sports like Basketball or atheltics, but not always the case in Pro-Wrestling. For Pro-wrestlers it’s all about the match and the persona is second to that – cause if your not having gd matches your not gonna make money in Pro-Wrestling ! The only person I can think if who did what you described (being the best based on persona) is Hulk Hogan – and he was never the best ring work wise !
The quality of the performance increases when a performer has polished his persona. That takes at least a decade. I don’t like it when people say for example that Jordan from 84-91 was the best Jordan. Your not your best until 100% of the fans of that sport are aware of your legacy.
Not in all cases, older atheletes do have experiance which is a plus, but they also have the bad habits as well (just look @ Big Show – only a year back and he has put all that weight he lost back on !), which is why alot of younger people are better atheletes – Plus, I was on about Steiner being a good wrestler when he was part of the Steiner brothers in early WCW – when Steiner started to go into the “Big Poppa Pump” gimmick, in my view, his matches got steadily worse in quality !
92? Isn’t an athlete his best in the middle part of their career? Being young doesn’t make you a better athlete.
HHH hasn’t helped himself in that department either with all those tendons he’s inadvertantly snapped off the bone.

I loved the classical music in the beginning from 0:00 to 0:37. Can someone please tell me what is the name of that music?
WTF ? Since when was a Belly-To-Belly sulpex (the way Steiner does them) a power move – if it is what does that say about Angle ! And Steiner gasses out in all of his matches past 20 mins because for most of his solo career he hasn’t wrestled past the 30 mins mark – and in wrestling it’s not about how many dives, jumps off the top rope or ‘flippy’ moves you can do – look at Bret Hart – never did a hurricarana or a moonsault in his WWE/WCW career and he is considered one of the best of all time !
Epic? Steiner in 92 would have made HHH look laughable, Steiner of 96 97 would have made HHH look like a little bitch. I do remember in that match they made Steiner do a ton of power moves which is physically taxing which is probably why he gassed out. And all HHH did was easy ring work that took no effort. Hunter was always a garbage wrestler and ive never seen him do anything physically impressive in the ring.

Scott Steiner – another example of HHH busting his ass to make someone look good – and then his opponent fails to keep up with Hunter in the ring – the match they had would have been epic if HHH wrestled Steiner from ‘92 – when he was a good wrestler – but Steiner is just over the hill now !
